Filmfest in Venedig mit Hammer Filmauswahl


Nicht nur Robert Rodriguez' "Machete" rockt die Opening Night der Biennale, das Filmfest bietet Genre Perlen von Takashi Miikes "13 Assassins"-Remake über John Woo's neuestem Martial Arts hit "Legend of Assassins" bis hin zu Dokumentationen von Martin Scorsese oder John Turturro. Darran Aronowskys freizügiger "Black Swan" wird genauso gescreent wie Vincent Gallos neuster Film. Es gibt also viel zu entdecken im offiziellen Line-Up und eine Ticket nach Italien sollte sich wohl lohnen,,,

TIFF Filme bestätigt


Das Toronto International Filmfestival "TIFF" zeigt an 11 Tagen, 300 Filme, meistens Weltpremieren von herausragenden Genre-Perlen, hier der Pressebericht mit einigen Highlights:


"On the occasion of our 35th anniversary, we are thrilled to announce this selection of important and notable films," says Piers Handling, Director and CEO of TIFF. "The richness and diversity of this year's Galas and Special Presentations programmes reflect the abundance of exciting works from established and emerging filmmakers in the world of cinema."

"We are honoured that filmmakers choose our Festival to premiere their films to the world," says Cameron Bailey, Co-Director of the Toronto International Film Festival. "We look forward to introducing these films to Toronto audiences - the most informed and enthusiastic filmgoers in the world."

The Festival's Galas and Special Presentations programmes will feature premieres of films from countries around the world including Chad, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The Bang Bang Club Steven Silver, Canada/South Africa

The Bang Bang Club was the name given to four young photographers, Greg Marinovich, Kevin Carter, Ken Oosterbroek and Joao Silva, whose photographs captured the final bloody days of white rule in South Africa and the final demise of apartheid. The film tells the remarkable and sometimes harrowing story of these young men - and the extraordinary extremes they went to in order to capture their pictures. The film stars Ryan Phillippe, Malin Akerman, Taylor Kitsch, Neels Van Jaarsveld and Frank Rautenbach.

Barney's Version Richard J. Lewis, Canada/Italy

From producer Robert Lantos, Barney's Version is a film based on Mordecai Richler's prize-winning comic novel. Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti) is a seemingly ordinary man who lives an extraordinary life. A Serbian Film ("Srpski Film") Review


"A Serbian Film" ist widerlich, abstoßend, verstörend und dabei ein handwerklich, beeindruckendes Stück ultra-harter Filmgeschichte.



Wie hier erst schleichend und dann im Uzi-Salven-Sekundentakt Perversitäten aufgeboten werden, lässt sich nach der Sichtung kaum in Worte fassen, dabei ist die Geschichte doch äußerst intelligent.

Aufblende: Milos drückt eine sexy Frau an die Wand, legt sie über ein Motorrad und nimmt die Blondine richtig durch -- eine Szene aus einer minderwertigen Pornoproduktion. Der Rezipient ist das eher verstörende, während sich der 4-Jährige Marko noch fragt was sein Vater da im Fernsehen mit der Dame anstellt, erwischt ihn auch schon Mama Marija und verfrachtet den Jungen ins Bett, "Comics für Erwachsene" nennt sie die Schund-DVD, sehr zum Unverständnis von Papa Milos, der am Rande bemerkt "Was ist schon dabei, als ich in seinem Alter war, habe ich auch meinen ersten Porno gesehen". Leider lebt es sich trotz Familienidylle als Ex-Pornostar nicht allzu königlich, der Musikunterricht des Sohnemannes muss finanziert werden und das Essen muss auf den Tisch, zum Glück gibt es noch alte Partner die einen nicht vergessen und so wird Milos von einer Ex-Darstellerin ein lukratives Angebot gemacht.

Bis hier hin ist "A Serbian Film" ein atmosphärisches Drama, hohe Produktions-Werte, stylische Kameraeinstellungen und Fahrten, lassen den Zuschauer am Aufbau der Geschichte teil haben. Doch immer schleicht auch ein wenig "Lynches" Unbehagen mit ein, möge es am hypnotischen Soundtrack oder den creepy Figuren liegen. Milos' Bruder beneidet, ja bewundert den ehemaligen Pornodarsteller, schaut mit den Frauen die er abschleppt die Filmchen seines Bruders und schafft es nicht sie zu befriedigen, nur Milos' Frau scheint sexuelle Phantasien in dem gut, verdienenden Polizisten zu wecken. Beisst sie lasziv in einen Apfel muss er erstmal onanierend im Badezimmer verschwinden.

Auftritt: Vukmir Vukmir -- Der vielversprechende Kunstporno "Regisseur" dessen Nachname gleich Vorname ist, übersetzt irgendetwas mit Wolf heißt und einen schnieken Achtziger Jahre Ohrring trägt, zahlt gerne eine horrende Summe (dessen exakte Höhe nie genannt wird) um seinen Nikola Teslar des Pornos zu engarieren. Für was? Das wird nicht erklärt, Milos bekommt kein Drehbuch, er wird nicht wissen was gespielt wird, sondern darf nur auf die gestellten Situationen reagieren -- Möge das Schlachtfest beginnen. Von nun an begibt sich das Werk auf "Hostel"-Niveau und zeigt dem US-Kino mit einem hämischen Lachen, was "Torture Porn" wörtlich genommen ist. Von "Newborn Porn" Baby-Vergewaltigungen bis hin zu Augenhöhlenpenetration wird so ziemlich jedes Register gezogen.

Nun könnte man "A Serbian Film" auch einfach als Horror-Schund und Billigkost abstempeln, dem ist nur leider nicht so. Irgendwo zwischen "Old Boy" und David Fincher-Hochglanzästhetik siedelt sich das kraftvolle Werk von Debutreggisseur Srdjan Spasojevi, der auch das Drehbuch schrieb und und den Film finanzierte, nahtlos an. "A Serbian Film" soll schocken und ja, das schafft der Streifen auch, nicht nur auf psychologischer, sondern definitiv auch auf visueller Ebene. "A Serbian Film" ist ein Film wie ein Faustschlag in die Magengrube, absichtlich verstörend, ein Film wie eine Qual, der man sich aussetzt, ein Film der nicht gedreht wurde um zu unterhalten, sondern um zu bestrafen und dabei irgendwie auch ein kleines, sickes Meisterwerk.

Sicher spielt bei der drastischen Umsetzung auch das von Kriegen gezeichnete Ex-Jugoslawien eine große Rolle, Hauptdarsteller Srdjan Todorovic war erfolgreicher Drummer in der Rock-Band "Ekatarina Velika". Man muss sich mal vorstellen, was sich Srdjan beim Lesen des Drehbuchs gedacht haben muss und vor allem, was jetzt mit so einem Werk passiert.

Gezeigt wurde der Streifen bis jetzt nur auf einigen, ausgewählten Festivals und sorgt immer wieder für Gesprächsstoff. In Cannes soll bei einem Produzenten-Screening gar jemand aus dem Saal entflohen seien, der vor lauter Verstörung hin fiel und sich die Nase brach -- keine Guten Karten für eine Kino - oder DVD-Auswertung. Komischerweise scheint auch die allmächtige Imdb ein kleines Hühnchen mit dem Film am rupfen zu haben, findet man doch über deren hauseigener Suchfunktion keinen Eintrag, wobei man über Google doch direkt zum Film und den imdb-reviews gelangt.

In den USA werden wohl die Sex-Szenen und die erigierten Geschlechtsteile eher für Kontroversen, als das viele Blut sorgen, das sicher hierzulande beanstandet wird. Auch das Fantasy Filmfest, dass im August startet, würdigt dem Debutfilm kein Screening, obwohl das Publikum ja sicher vorhanden wäre. Der Versuch den Film in Deutschland auf Zelluloid zu bringen um Kinoauswertungen zu ermöglichen, endete mit der Polizei und Anwälten im Studio die die Kopie zerstören wollten. Somit wird "Spirski Film" wie er im Original heißt wohl nicht mal als "Video Nasty" in die heimischen Wohnzimmer trudeln und wohl ein Fall für die virtuelle Schund-Ladentheke werden, in den p2p Internettauschbörsen soll eine eingestellte Version des Films schon tausende Male runter geladen worden sein -- immerhin besteht so die Chance ein Publikum zu finden, dass sich selbst eine Meinung über den Film bilden kann, fern von Schnitten und Verboten.
